Europa. L’illustrazione italiana racconta l’Europa dei popoli in viaggio in Riga

The exhibitionEuropa. L’illustrazione italiana racconta l’Europa dei popoliwill be open to visitors from 3 November 2023 to 24 January 2024, at the headquarters of the Municipality of Riga in Latvia. The Italian illustration tells the story of the Europe of peoples, the project promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Fondazione Torino Musei, in collaboration with the Città di Torino, the Regione Piemonte and Palazzo Madama.

Through the works created by 16 internationally renowned Italian illustrators, the exhibition, organized in Latvia by the Italian Embassy together with the Municipality of Riga, tells the values of Europe: from freedom to democracy, from the rule of law to the protection of 'environment.

The illustrators involved and the topics covered are: Matteo Berton, Palazzo Madama; Rita Petruccioli, The Treaties of Rome; Gio Quasirosso, Ventotene; Camilla Falsini, Freedom; Elisa Seitzinger, Respect for human dignity; Andrea Serio, Equality; Anna Parini, Democracy; Francesco Poroli, Rule of Law; Irene Rinaldi, Respect for human rights; Lucio Schiavon, Brotherhood; Ale Giorgini, Work; Emiliano Ponzi, Culture; Bianca Bagnarelli, Peace; Marina Marcolin, Environment; Gianluca Folì, Science; Giulia Acquanti, Inclusion.

The exhibition can be visited in Riga until 26 January 2024. The Riga stage of Europe is part of a long circuit that has taken the exhibition all over the world, with 42 exhibitions organized on the five continents with the coordination of the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Farnesina.

The project was presented for the first time in Turin in 2022, on the occasion of the final event of the semester of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Europe.
