In 1972 the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna in Turin celebrated the work of Fausto Melotti (Rovereto, 1901 - Milan, 1986) with a large retrospective that consecrated him as one of the masters of Italian art. More than fifty years later, as part of SECONDA RISONANZA, the GAM is dedicating a new major exhibition to the artist, organised in collaboration with Fondazione Fausto Melotti in Milan, and curated by Chiara Bertola and Fabio Cafagna. The exhibition traces Melotti’s entire career from his abstract beginnings in the 1930s to his artistic maturity.
As part of SECONDA RISONANZA, running from 15 April to 7 September 2025, GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino (Turin Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery) presents Dove lo spazio chiama il segno (Where the Space Calls Forth the Sign) a major retrospective exhibition of the work of Alice Cattaneo (Milan, 1976), curated by Giovanni Giacomo Paolin.
The GAM present, as part of the SECONDA RISONANZA, an exhibition curated by Elena Volpato, dedicated to the films of Giosetta Fioroni, preserved in the Videoteca collection.

I curatori e sound artist Chiara Lee e Freddie Murphy sono gli intrusi della Seconda Risonanza, a trasformare gli interstizi delle scale del museo in strumento musicale.
Tra giugno 2025 e marzo 2026 la GAM di Torino organizza un ciclo di incontri, in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Filosofia e Scienze dell’Educazione dell’Università degli Studi di Torino, curato da Chiara Bertola e Federico Vercellone. Il primo ciclo prende il via il 12 giugno fino al 16 ottobre.
All’interno della mostra dedicata al lavoro di Alice Cattaneo, Dove lo spazio chiama il segno, S.O.N.O.G.E.O.M.E.T.R.I.A. è un intervento site-specific a sei mani (e molti speaker) che mette in dialogo le sculture dell’artista con una tessitura sonora, composta da gesti, materiali e frammenti d’ambiente.
Da lunedì 8 a giovedì 11 settembre 2025 si svolge negli spazi della GAM il workshop condotto da Caterina Tiazzoldi, architetta e artista di fama internazionale.
Curioso è il destino dell’erbario: nato come strumento scientifico nelle mani della botanica per raccogliere, classificare e illustrare specimen vegetali, come farmacopea o elenco di farmaci, non ha cessato di affascinare filosofi, scrittori e artisti.
L'incontro si sofferma sulle opere d’arte eseguite con una cromia limitata e sulle molteplici letture che esse possono offrire.
Chiara Bertola, Direttrice della GAM, sarà ospite a PALAZZOIRREALE per il talk che si terrà sabato 20 settembre alle 11:30 negli spazi di via Luigi Bosca 2 a Canelli (AT) nel Monferrato.
La GAM di Torino è lieta di ospitare We played it loud! di Phill Niblock, un progetto sonoro e audiovisivo che si inserisce nel programma del festival dell’ascolto sperimentale To Listen To, giunto alla sua quarta edizione.
